Partners play a critical role in transitioning advanced technologies from SBIR/STTR funded programs to the commercial market. Partnering with an SBIR/STTR funded small business provides you with immediate access to innovative, advanced technologies that have already been vetted having been through a competitive award process. These are cutting-edge technologies that can help you reach your company’s net-zero and sustainability goals. Many are disruptive and looking to enter emerging markets. Register with either the NASA, DOE or NHLBI Partnering Portal to access thousands of competitively vetted, cutting-edge TECHNOLOGIES!

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) Small Business Partnering Platform connects NHLBI funded heart, lung, blood and sleep technologies to private capital resources.

Designed to connect federally funded innovators and companies with investors, strategic partners, clinical collaborators and industry experts, this powerful platform facilitates dynamic relationships, and fosters investment and partnership opportunities that are needed to accelerate product development and commercialization success. Investors and partners gain first-hand access to cutting-edge technologies reviewed and funded by the NIH.

By bringing together innovators and partners, the NHLBI aims to drive advancements in heart, lung, and blood research and improve public health outcomes.

The NASA Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) program is part of America's Seed Fund, the nation's largest source of early-stage non-dilutive funding for innovative technologies.

Through this program, entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses with less than 500 employees can receive funding and non-monetary support to build, mature, and commercialize their technologies, advancing NASA missions and helping solve important problems facing our country.

The NASA SBIR/STTR program has funded over 2,000 companies since its inception in 1983, with Whether your destination is the Moon, Mars, or the marketplace, the NASA SBIR/STTR program wants to help get you there!

The Department of Energy (DOE) is the third largest federal agency participating in SBIR/STTR. DOE issues about $300M in grants annually — roughly 350-400 Phase I awards and 160-200 Phase II awards. Awards are issued to the highest ranked, most technically meritorious applications. Studies show that small businesses are 50% more likely to successfully commercialize their SBIR/STTR funded technology if they develop the necessary partnerships during development/pre-productization.

The SBIR Partnering Platform was launched in October 2023 to facilitate the identification and engagement between DOE SBIR/STTR applicants and awardees and these necessary partners. Partners change along the development path and a myriad can be found within the platform — from subject matter experts and collaborators to engineering design/manufacturing resources and commercialization service providers to industry stakeholders and investors.

By providing this platform, DOE is increasing the rate at which innovators and partners can engage, improving the outcomes of both research and commercialization within the DOE SBIR/STTR programs.
